Stromal cell lines were tested for their ability to support enriched stem cell populations in comparison to AFT024. Cells were either plated in primary
limiting-dilution CAFC assay on each of the individual stroma (top graph) or were first maintained in bulk-coculture on each of the stroma and then
after 4 weeks replated into limiting-dilution CAFC assay onto fresh AFT024 monolayers (bottom graph). This assay determines the ability of each stroma
to maintain stem cells with a capacity to generate quantifiable, long-term initiating, or secondary cobblestone areas. The predicted frequency is expressed
as a percentage; actual frequency is shown in parentheses.
